Background of the Study

Seasonal marketing strategies are campaigns or promotions designed around specific times of the year, such as holidays, festivals, or special events, when consumer spending tends to peak. These strategies are particularly effective in industries like retail and e-commerce, where demand fluctuates based on seasonal factors. By aligning marketing efforts with seasonal trends, businesses can create urgency, attract more customers, and boost sales.

Jumia Nigeria, a leading e-commerce platform, has long employed seasonal marketing strategies to drive sales during key periods, such as the end-of-year holidays, Black Friday, and other Nigerian festivals. The company’s marketing campaigns are designed to offer discounts, promotions, and exclusive deals that resonate with consumers during these high-demand periods. In Adamawa State, where e-commerce is becoming increasingly popular, Jumia’s seasonal promotions play a critical role in influencing consumer purchasing decisions.

This study will explore the effect of Jumia Nigeria’s seasonal marketing strategies on sales performance in Adamawa State, analyzing how these strategies attract customers and increase sales during peak seasons.
